KOGI LAWMAKERS CELEBRATE ONE OF THEIR OWN: ASSEMBLY DELEGATION VISITS FIRE SERVICE BOSS, SAMUEL ADEYEMI.

The new “001” continues his round of strategic engagements — shaking hands with Immigration, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), and even entertainment icon 2Face Idibia — strengthening partnerships and visibility for Kogi State.

In a familiarization visit to the Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Samuel Adeyemi, the delegation from the Kogi State House of Assembly was warmly received by the Comptroller General himself, alongside senior officers of the Service.

CG Adeyemi, who joined the Federal Fire Service in 2002 and has held various leadership positions across departments over two decades, hails from Bunu, Kabba (Kogi West) — making him the first Kogi State citizen to attain the position of Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service.

Speaking during the visit, the Leader of the Delegation, Hon. Seyi Victor Bello, who is the Deputy Chief Whip of the Kogi State House of Assembly, conveyed good tidings from the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar, and the entire members of the 8th Assembly.
He noted that the visit had been slightly delayed due to official engagements, explaining that the mission was to congratulate the Comptroller General on his appointment in March, as well as to convey the yearnings of their constituencies and strengthen collaboration between the State and the Service.

In his response, a visibly elated Comptroller General Adeyemi expressed deep appreciation for the visit, noting that he was overwhelmed by the recognition from his home state. He commended the House for its consistent support to both the previous and current administrations, adding that Kogi State has shown unity in purpose and continuity in leadership.

The Comptroller General further pledged not to disappoint the people of Kogi State, assuring that he would make the State proud through exemplary service and national impact. He reaffirmed his commitment to uphold integrity, professionalism, and innovation within the Federal Fire Service.

Members of the delegation included Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu, Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency; Hon. Jacob Olawumi, Member representing Mopa Amuro State Constituency; Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijani, Member representing Lokoja I State Constituency; Hon. Idrees Aliyu, Member representing Kogi/Koto State Constituency; and Hon. Abbas Ibrahim Linco Ocheje, Member representing Ankpa I State Constituency.



The visit, which follows similar engagements with other federal institutions, underscores the House’s commitment to strategic partnership and inclusive representation.

AJAOKUTA’S FRESH POLICE CONSTABLES VISIT HON. JIBRIL ABU TO APPRECIATE HIS JOB CREATION INITIATIVE


Newly recruited Police Constables from Ajaokuta — beneficiaries of the job creation initiative facilitated by Hon. Jibril Abu, Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency — have paid a courtesy visit to his office to express their gratitude for his instrumental role in helping them achieve their career aspirations.


The visit, described as a “tribute of appreciation,” reflected the far-reaching impact of Hon. Abu’s people-centered leadership and his unwavering commitment to securing employment opportunities for youths across the constituency.


The beneficiaries, visibly happy yet speechless, expressed their emotions through actions that spoke louder than words — gratitude, respect, and a deep sense of fulfillment. Their visit, according to observers, was a symbolic acknowledgment of Hon. Abu’s sustained efforts toward empowering Ajaokuta’s young people.


Receiving them in his office, Hon. Jibril Abu expressed heartfelt appreciation to God, emphasizing that his philosophy of service is built on humanity above all else.


“Whatever we offer to do is about our people first — not on the front of partisan politics, group or sect, religion or faction. Humanity comes first,” he stated.
“We do not look at ‘thank you,’ even though it is noted. We return all glory to God, the true enabler.”


Beyond facilitating their recruitment, Hon. Abu went further to personally support the successful candidates — ensuring they were financially assisted throughout their journey to the training school, providing for their welfare and comfort until their Passing Out Parade (POP). This act of compassion, the constables noted, stood out as a true reflection of leadership that touches lives beyond promises.
Reaffirming his readiness to continue creating pathways for Ajaokuta youths, Hon. Abu highlighted that seven Police Constables have been successfully recruited within the past two years through his facilitation.


“That’s an average of two new constables per year within our first tenure. By God’s grace, we will continue to do more. This is only the beginning,” he added.


The Honourable member assured the young officers and the entire constituency that he remains committed to building on this progress.
“We are not slowing down,” he emphasized. “Our focus remains to uplift lives, empower our youths, and keep faith with the promise of a better and more prosperous Ajaokuta.”


The visit ended on a warm note of prayers and mutual encouragement, as the new Police Constables pledged to serve their nation diligently and justify the rare opportunity they have been given.

‎The Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu, has congratulated four indigenes of his constituency whose enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force he successfully facilitated.

‎The newly recruited officers; Constable Yakubu Nanahawa, Constable Shaibu Ometere, Constable Gomina Suleiman, and Constable Sanni Rahimat, has concluded their training and have officially commenced service with the Force.
‎
‎In his message of felicitation, Hon. Abu expressed delight over their successful recruitment, describing it as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to empowering Ajaokuta youths through meaningful employment opportunities.
‎
‎He urged the officers to remain disciplined, patriotic and committed to upholding the integrity of the Police Force, noting that their service is a direct contribution to National peace and security.
‎
‎Hon. Abu reaffirmed his determination to continue leveraging his legislative influence and strategic partnerships to secure more job placements and empowerment opportunities for constituents across all sectors.

‎According to him, “The progress of Ajaokuta lies in the empowerment of its people. I will not relent in ensuring that our youths find a place in every sphere of National development.”

Sunday Daku, Assembly Member Representing Bassa State Constituency and Chairman, House Standing Committee on Youths and Sports at the 8th Assembly, led a high-powered delegation of Oxee Healthcare Limited on a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Head of Service, Dr. Elijah Adeiza Evinemi.

‎The visit centered on exploring viable pathways to institutionalize the Kogi Civil Servants Unity Sports Festival. During the meeting, Oxee Healthcare presented a comprehensive plan for the Festival, designed to build more viable fitness and football events.
‎
‎The proposed initiative seeks to deploy sports as a tool for sensitization, health promotion and unity among both Federal and State Civil Servants in Kogi State.
‎
‎According to Hon. Jibril Abu, the next phase of the engagement will involve a visit to the Commissioner, Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, with the vision that His Excellency, Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, will eventually adopt the project as a fully institutionalized Civil Servants Sports Festival for Kogi State.

‎He further emphasized that the synergy between the Legislature and the Executive remains crucial for the betterment of the State, with good health as the bedrock of a productive service.

In a bid to promote self-reliance and youth employment under the T3 EmpowerMe Scheme, Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu, Member representing Ajaokuta State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, has empowered Mr. Ahmed Abdulmutolib, popularly known as “Lucky,” a budding vehicle electrician, with a brand-new professional toolbox.

The equipment, valued in the hundreds of thousands, is expected to enhance the beneficiary’s work efficiency and income. According to Hon. Abu, the gesture was inspired by Lucky’s dedication, skill, and commitment to building a sustainable livelihood.

Overjoyed by the gesture, Mr. Abdulmutolib expressed his gratitude to the lawmaker, pledging to be a worthy ambassador of Ajaokuta and to uphold the vision of the T3 Initiatives in creating opportunities for youth empowerment.

WISDOMBANK’S T³ ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILL TRAINING PROGRAM EMPOWERS AJAOKUTA CONSTITUENTS.

The Together Towards Tomorrow – T³ Entrepreneurial Skill Training Program, sponsored by the Kogi State House of Assembly Member representing Ajaokuta, Hon Jibril Abu, has recently garnered widespread attention for its impactful initiative aimed at empowering local residents through hands-on vocational training.

A significant milestone in the program took place today in Adogo — the first of the three designated training centres — where participants proudly showcased their newly acquired skills by producing and exhibiting a variety of household and personal care products. These included liquid soap, petroleum jelly, shampoo, body spray, perfume, hair cream, germicide, bleach, hair conditioner, and air freshener. The exhibition not only highlighted the creativity and dedication of the trainees but also underscored the program’s effectiveness in promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship within the state constituency.

This initiative aligns closely with the broader developmental agenda of Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who is committed to advancing skill acquisition and economic empowerment. Through the Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Program, over 200 youths have already been trained in various vocational disciplines and equipped with starter packs to launch their own businesses.

In a similar vein, the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulraheem Egidi, has also made significant contributions to youth empowerment, particularly in ICT and related sectors.

Together, these concerted efforts reflect a strong and growing commitment to tackling unemployment and fostering sustainable economic growth through entrepreneurship and practical skills training across Kogi State.

Pictured below are some of the products prepared and displayed at the Training Venue, awaiting the next phase — BRANDING. The Progenitor, Hon Jibril Abu (WisdomBank) has assured participants that the temporary brand names selected will carry deep emotional resonance and will serve as a lasting memorial tribute.

In a significant development, he also announced a partnership with the The Kogi State Government initiative through Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) for Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration. Participants will be organized into clusters – ten Persons per cluster for this purpose, ensuring formal recognition and business legitimacy.

This impactful model will be replicated across the remaining Two Training Centres, expanding its reach and sustainability.

AJAOKUTA is proudly shifting the narrative —from job seeking to job creation.

In a demonstration of unity and inclusive representation, Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu, the Member Representing Ajaokuta State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, hosted Ajaokuta constituents residing in Lokoja for a Ramadan Iftar. The gathering, which brought together various groups and individuals, served as a platform for fostering constituency engagement and strengthening ties between leadership and the people.

Among the attendees was Ajaokuta Youth Ambassadors (AYA), an independent youth group, along with other distinguished groups. They expressed their profound appreciation for Hon. Jibril’s commitment to bridging the gap between the government and the people, recognizing him as a friendly and accessible representative at all times.

Hon. Irikiti Idris, the President of Ajaokuta Youth Ambassadors who doubled as Local Government Special Adviser (LSA) to Kogi State Governor, lauded Hon. Jibril Abu for his hospitality and generosity in making an assortment of meals available for the Iftar.
In his remarks, he highlighted the Honorable’s outstanding achievements, particularly in the area of employment, education, healthcare and business empowerment. He acknowledged the continuous support given to women and artisans within the constituency, emphasizing that even those observing from a distance can attest to his magnificent constituency development.

Hon. Jibril Onoru-Oiza Abu during his address, expressed gratitude to his constituents for attending the Ramadan Iftar at his Lokoja residence. He emphasized the imperativeness of fostering unity among all faiths and reaffirmed his sincere commitment to prioritizing the welfare of Ajaokuta State Constituents, underscoring that their concerns remain his utmost priority.

As a gesture of goodwill, Hon. Jibril Abu announced his intention to extend such Ramadan gatherings to all Districts within the Constituency, reinforcing his commitment to inclusivity and grassroots engagement.
